BREAKING: VCs, others peg varsity admissions at 140
Planelles stated that although their romance is over for the time being, a reunion isn't out of the question.
On Thursday, education sector stakeholders set a minimum benchmark score of 140 for admission to universities.
During the current policy meeting in Abuja, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, clarified that the benchmark score is not the cut-off mark for admissions for all universities.
JAMB had received the minimum benchmark scores from a number of institutions. The only universities that suggested 200 and above were Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos, Covenant University in Ogun State, Obafemi Awolowo University in Osun State, and the University of Lagos.
Oloyede also issued a warning to Nigerians about rumours that JAMB was establishing cutoff scores.
"JAMB doesn't establish deadlines. We have established a baseline score that no university can fall short of. Every university has a set of benchmark scores.
