Driver injured as gas tanker overturns in Lagos
On Wednesday, a tanker driver carrying petrol suffered injuries when his car flipped over on the Oshodi-Apapa Motorway.
In a statement acquired on Wednesday, Adebayo Taofiq, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, acknowledged the event.
At the time of this report, the driver's identity was unknown, although it was stated that he was receiving medical attention.
Taofiq continued, "A possible disaster arising from the incident was averted by the quick intervention of LASTMA personnel in conjunction with the efforts of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services."
"Earlier today, at Anthony Oke, a loaded petrol tanker that was travelling towards Gbagada along the Oshodi-Apapa Motorway overturned," he said. Due to this occurrence, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and other emergency responders.
"LASTMA workers successfully removed the injured tanker driver from the scene, whereupon he received medical attention for his hand injuries.
In addition to other emergency responders, the Lagos State Fire Service and the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) were dispatched to the scene, where they scrupulously put safety precautions in place to lessen any possible risks. Their prompt and well-coordinated action was essential to controlling the situation and averting more difficulties.

The tanker and its laden petrol cylinder have been successfully removed from the road by LASTMA workers with the assistance of the LRU, restoring vehicular movement towards Gbagada, Iyana-Oworo, Car Wash, Ifako, and Toll Gate.
