FG Declares Tue, Wed Holidays For Eid El-Fitr Celebrations

In honour of this year's Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the Federal Government has designated Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as vacations.

The Federal Government made the proclamation in a statement on Sunday that was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry, Aishetu Ndayako, and delivered by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The minister gave the Muslim faithful congratulations for successfully finishing the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

He urged Muslims to emulate and live by the values of compassion, kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and good neighbourliness, all of which were demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

In order to enhance and attain peace and harmony in the nation, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo advised Nigerians to embrace togetherness.

He wished all Muslim faithful a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and prayed that the peace, blessings and favour of Allah be with everyone and Nigeria.
