First Lady commiserates with families of Zamfara school fire victims

The relatives of those who perished in a fire outbreak that struck an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night have received condolences from First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

In the fire event in Zamfara State's Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, 17 Almajiris (street urchins) were confirmed dead and 17 others injured, according to Zamfara police.

In a statement released on Thursday, Tinubu also expressed his condolences to Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal for the terrible event.

"I ask Allah to provide consolation and the strength to endure this terrible loss for the departed's family and loved ones.

This reminds us once more that all of our public facilities require preventative safety measures.

"I hope and pray that this won't happen again in Zamfara or anywhere else in Nigeria.

She remarked, "May Allah grant the souls of the departed Aljanah Fridaus."
