House help admits killing Justice Ajumogobia’s daughter – Police source
According to a police source who spoke exclusively on Thursday, one of the domestic workers of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia's deceased daughter, Aribemchukwu, has admitted to having a hand in her boss's murder.
The deceased, also known as Chuchu, was allegedly assassinated in her Parkview Estate home in the Lagos State neighbourhood of Ikoyi.
Her body was found outside her home's gate on Wednesday morning, despite a family source claiming she was killed Tuesday night.
Nonetheless, her three domestic workers—a driver, a security guard, and a housekeeper—were taken into custody in relation to the homicide.
Giving updates on the discoveries made thus far, a law enforcement source who wished to remain anonymous because he lacked authorisation to talk about the matter said the house help confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The insider went on to say that the dead was killed inside her room and that her body was later dragged from the location where it had been thrown outside the gate.
The informant claims that because the incident happened at night, the suspects tried to wipe up the blood streaks but missed some areas.
"To make it appear as though she was killed right there, the deceased was killed in her room and her body was dragged to the front of the gate. After that, every blood stain was meticulously cleaned, yet certain areas remained uncleaned. Given that it occurred at night, they did not thoroughly sanitise it.”
"The housekeeper did not refute what had occurred. During an interview, she said, "We do am, na we do am," and everything she said corroborated the evidence that was found, the police source revealed.
It was also said that as soon as the suspects killed their employer, they packed up all of the deceased's assets.
A week before to the occurrence, the source verified that all three domestic workers were working simultaneously.
The late Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had just gotten married before she passed away.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, responded that investigations were still ongoing when he was approached.
"Investigations into the incident are still ongoing," he declared. Updates will be sent out as soon as additional developments occur.
