How I became bishop of C&S church —Shina Peters

On Friday, renowned Afro-Juju artist Sir Shina Peters declared that he had been called by God to become a bishop.

Shina Peters was consecrated as a bishop in 2021 at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God, located in Lagos State's Iju neighbourhood.

The musician clarified that the church leadership got supernatural direction regarding his ordination in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

He revealed that years before he agreed to be ordained, the church officials received the divinely given order.

"The Almighty God told me that I should be appointed the first bishop of the Church of God in Cherubim and Seraphim," he added. He informed the church's leaders.

Since I am the sole musician, God stated this who has consistently used hymns in my music and performances, and through this, I have won many souls for Christ.

“You know my music is often based on hymns.

“And I tried to avoid the ordination for a while until God finally got me arrested.”

Reflecting on his career, Peters expressed satisfaction with his progress and thanked God for guiding him through the years.

“I am fulfilled; I am content. The only thing I now ask my creator for is to keep enlightening me with His word and to grant me the grace to draw closer to Him.
"At this point, all I want to do is keep giving thanks to God for my accomplishments through His grace.

"I continue to be thankful to my creator when I consider the people I began this trip with but are no longer with me.

Regarding what his followers should anticipate, he stated, "I will only say that they should expect something unusual very soon."
