Lagos to open 280-bed multi-specialist hospital in December

By the end of 2025, the 280-bed multispecialist general hospital in Ojo Local Government Area would be operational, according to a statement made by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State.

Speaking during a working tour of the facility, Sanwo-Olu expressed hope that the hospital will be completely operational by December.

He characterised the concept as a comprehensive healthcare facility with contemporary features, such as a central laboratory and space for medical staff.

The hospital will offer a comprehensive range of outpatient services, medical diagnosis, accident and emergency care, and other specialised hospital amenities on its more than six-hectare campus.

Along with 280 beds spread among four floors, it will also have central laboratory facilities and a sizable restaurant.

The governor said the hospital would have 64 medical staff apartments, including one-bedroom and three-bedroom units spread across four residential complexes.

The facility will be the biggest multispecialty hospital in the senatorial area of Lagos West, he said.

Sanwo-Olu called on all parties involved to help the state government finish the project, which would revitalise the neighbourhood and give its citizens a new lease of life.

The governor presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Platinum Shopping Complex on Iyana Iba Road in Ojo, Lagos, in addition to the hospital project.

One of the main projects of the Lagos State Government's efforts to enhance the state's healthcare system is the Ojo General Hospital project.

When finished, the hospital will give locals and others in the surrounding areas much-needed access to high-quality medical treatment.
