NDA warns residents ahead of shooting exercise in Kaduna

Residents of Afaka, Kauya, and Mando in Kaduna have been warned by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to avoid the open range during a planned shooting exercise. The public relations officer for the academy, Maj. Muhammad Maidawa made the announcement Tuesday in Kaduna in a statement given to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to Maidawa, the exercise was part of the advanced application of fire package for the Army Cadets of the 72 Regular Course and was planned to take place from February 26 to March 1.
He claims that live gunfire will be a part of the exercise and that it is crucial to the cadets' training and growth. By erecting warning signs and barriers to demarcate restricted areas around the range areas, he emphasized the significance of safety. Residents are asked to heed these warnings and avoid the area for the duration of the exercise, especially farmers, pedestrians, and cattle rearers.
The NDA has called for cooperation and collaboration from the local community members and has guaranteed that everyone's safety and well-being are of utmost importance. Residents can contribute to ensuring their safety and the efficient training of military personnel by avoiding the designated area, according to Maidawa. According to him, the warning was issued as a necessary precaution to guarantee the training exercise's success and to avert any possible harm to civilians. (NAN).
