NEMA confirms two dead, two injured in Kano building collapse

The two-storey structure that collapsed at Noman's Land Fagge Local Government Area of Kano on Thursday resulted in two verified deaths and two injuries, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The event was reported to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano by Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, the NEMA Coordinator for the Kano Territorial Office.

"A two-story building collapsed at Noman's Land Quarters, Kano," he stated in a distress call that the agency received this morning at around 2:00 a.m.We dispatched our rescue crew to the area as soon as we received the information.
"The couple was taken to Armed Forces Specialist Hospital, Kano for treatment after our team saved the husband, wife, and two children; of the victims, the two children were confirmed dead." Abdullahi said.
He noted that the search and rescue operations were still ongoing to rescue trapped persons in the building.
According to NAN, the search and rescue team included members of the Kano State Fire Service, Police, Red Cross, NSCDC, SEMA, and other agencies.
