NiMet forecasts three-day sunshine, cloudiness nationwide
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted a combination of sunny and cloudy weather from Monday to Wednesday across the nation.
The weather outlook issued by NiMet on Sunday in Abuja predicted sunny conditions over the northern region for the entire forecast duration.
As per NiMet, the central region is expected to experience sunny weather with occasional clouds throughout the forecast period.
The agency also predicted sunny weather in the southern region, accompanied by some cloud cover.
It anticipates the possibility of isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia, and Osun States later in the day.
"On Tuesday, sunny weather is expected to prevail in the northern region throughout the forecast period, while the central region will see sunny conditions with a few clouds during the same timeframe.
"The southern region is also expected to have sunny weather with some cloud cover, along with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms.
"Light rainfall is anticipated in parts of Abia, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Bayelsa States during the afternoon or evening hours," the agency stated.
The agency foresees a sunny yet hazy atmosphere on Wednesday over parts of Jigawa, Yobe, and Borno States in the northern region, while the remainder of the region is expected to remain sunny throughout the forecast period.
It also predicts light rainfall in parts of Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Bayelsa States later in the day.
"Drivers should exercise caution while driving in the rain. Airline operators are encouraged to obtain airport-specific weather reports (flight documentation) from NiMet for effective operational planning.
"Residents are urged to stay updated with weather information from NiMet. Please visit our website (www.nimet.gov.ng)," the agency advised.
