Ohanaeze youths commend Tinubu, Kalu on SEDC
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu have received accolades from the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) for their contributions to the creation of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday in the Imo State capital of Owerri, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, the youth president, commended the president for signing the measure expeditiously.
"We applaud President Tinubu for enacting the bill quickly and ensuring equitable development throughout the nation," he stated.
In addition, Igboayaka commended Kalu for his "painstaking efforts" in seeing that the bill was signed into law, calling his connection with President Tinubu "a great resource to Ndigbo."
"We are deeply appreciative to Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for asking the president to remember Ndigbo by signing the SEDC Bill into law," the OYC leader stated, adding, "Ndigbo are not ingrates." President Bola Ahmed Tinubu broke the 54-year jinx.
The Ohanaeze Youth Council also urged President Tinubu to explore using political means to free IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and to start additional development projects in the Southeast.
