The US donates $1 million in medical supplies to Katsina.

The first container of donated medical supplies from World Medical Relief in Detroit, USA, has been delivered to the Katsina State Government.

Ibrahim Mohammed, Katsina State Governor's chief press secretary, said in a statement released Thursday that the delivery is related to Governor Dikko Radda's November 2023 visit to World Medical Relief's headquarters, where he met with Mr. George Samson, the organization's president, and his staff.

The governor expressed his desire to guarantee that Katsina's decent citizens had access to first-rate medical treatment. As soon as he took office, he also notified President Samson of the findings of the Katsina State Government's healthcare needs assessment.

Governor Radda then obtained a commitment for ten containers of vital medical supplies and equipment. Notably, an average container contains supplies and equipment valued at $1 million," he stated.
Kaula added that seven containers are still in high seas transit and two more are on their way from Lagos.

Furthermore, World Medical Relief reaffirmed their pledge to assist Katsina State in locating cutting-edge MRI and CT scan equipment, including discounted installation and staff training.

Governor Radda characterised the collaboration with World Medical Relief as the administration's pledge to improve Katsina State's healthcare system. Our ability to offer our inhabitants high-quality healthcare services will be greatly improved by these medical supplies," the governor said.

"To guarantee that these essential medical resources are delivered to healthcare facilities effectively, the State Government has also put in place a distribution plan.

Governor Radda has demonstrated a strong interest in overhauling the state's healthcare system since taking office. In order to meet the needs of the inhabitants, this resulted in the extensive renovation and conversion of certain healthcare facilities to General Hospital and Comprehensive Health Centre standards, Mohammed added.
