Tinubu, UAE leader in talks on trade, investment, others

The focus of yesterday's discussions between United Arab Emirates (UAE) Presidents Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was on promoting sustainable development, commerce, investments, and regional stability.

A high-level bilateral meeting between the two leaders took place in Abu Dhabi during the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW2025).

The President stated in a message released on his verified X handle, @officialABAT, that the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the developing connection between the two nations.

It addressed a number of important topics of shared interest.

Both presidents looked at ways to strengthen economic ties, encourage innovation, and advance cooperative initiatives that would benefit both countries.

Tinubu emphasised the UAE's significance as a partner to Nigeria in his brief on the engagement, highlighting the significance of the bilateral talks in furthering strategic alliances.

He added that all of the important pillars for guaranteeing long-term prosperity were the subject of the talks.

Both countries were able to reconfirm their commitment to global environmental initiatives through the ADSW.

However, Tinubu congratulated the UAE on the extraordinary performance of this year's ADSW and the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which honours exceptional sustainability-related accomplishments.

President Tinubu expressed optimism about the future of Nigeria-UAE relations, highlighting the two nations' shared vision of collaboration, respect, and advancement that would continue to grow for the benefit of both nations and the larger global community.
According to the tweet, "I joined His Highness, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for an important bilateral meeting this evening (yesterday) to strengthen and expand the growing relationship between Nigeria and the UAE."

Our conversations centred on important topics of shared interest and looked at ways to strengthen our economic relations, encourage creativity, and improve cooperative initiatives that will help Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

"This bilateral meeting demonstrates our shared commitment to advancing strategic partnerships that promote sustainable development, trade and investments, regional stability, and prosperity for all. The UAE has proven to be an essential partner for Nigeria."

I would like to congratulate the winners of this year's ADSW and Zayed Sustainability Prize on their outstanding accomplishments. The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) provided a chance to reaffirm our dedication to global sustainability initiatives.
