Trump renews attack on U.S. Supreme Court, vows other tariffs, licences

President Donald Trump reiterated his criticism of the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday following its decision to reject his extensive tariff program.

He pledged to explore alternative tariff powers and licenses, although he did not provide specific information.

On Saturday, Trump announced his intention to increase a temporary tariff from 10 percent to 15 percent on imports to the U.S. from all nations, which is the highest rate permitted by law.

This announcement followed the court's ruling that Trump had overstepped his presidential authority by implementing a range of elevated tariff rates under an economic emergency statute.

"The court has also sanctioned all other tariffs, of which there are numerous, and they can all be utilized in a significantly more forceful and objectionable manner, with legal assurance, than the tariffs were originally applied," he stated in a post on social media.
