
Vehicle falls from Otedola Bridge, driver rescued
A private vehicle plunged off the Otedola Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the early hours of Monday, instigating alarm among commuters and bystanders.
Reports indicate that the vehicle was carrying four individuals, all of whom suffered varying levels of injury.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the incident in a post on X, noting that the driver was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital.
“An accident involving a car that fell from Otedola Bridge has been reported. The driver has been rescued and taken to a nearby hospital.
“There is a traffic backlog from Otedola Bridge to Berger heading towards the Secretariat, but our officers are present at the scene managing the situation effectively.
“Additional officers are also on-site addressing the necessary actions,” stated LASTMA.
This incident occurred in the same location where a gas-laden truck explosion resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals just weeks prior.
