Eagles camp opens Monday for W’Cup qualifiers

On Monday, June 3, idealgist reports, the Super Eagles camp will open for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.

On Friday, June 7, Nigeria will play South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. On Monday, June 10, Nigeria will travel to the Ivory Coast to play Benin Republic.

Although there have been rumours that the team's camp will open this weekend, Ademola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation's Director of Media and Communications, stated that the camp will open on Monday.

In response to a query from our correspondent regarding the camp's opening, Olajire wrote, "Monday, June 3."

On Monday, the team is anticipated to watch their first training session.

After being introduced as the team's substantive coach earlier this month, head coach Finidi George unveiled a 23-man roster for his first real test as the team's manager last Friday.

Due to a four-week injury, Italy-based Victor Osimhen has already been ruled out of the matches, causing some changes to Finidi's roster. Enugu Rangers left-back Kenneth Igboke has taken his place, bringing the total number of Nigeria Premier Football League players on the list to three.
