ICYMI: Late Junior Pope betrayed me repeatedly – Yul Edochie
The late Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has spoken out about his lack of attendance at his late colleague Junior Pope's funeral.
Edochie blamed the turn of events on the late film producer's backstabbing.
On Tuesday, the self-described preacher posted a statement on social media about his lack of attendance at the late actor's funeral, accusing him of betraying him on several occasions.
Even though he acknowledged that the Pope was like a brother to him, he felt the need to clarify himself because people were asking questions about why he wasn't present at the funeral.
He vowed to give additional information about how he had deceived him, but he did not elaborate on what had happened between them.
"I didn't want to say anything until after his burial," the author stated. I know a lot of people questioned my absence. The reason I haven't mentioned it since.
I treated him as a close friend and brother. When he needed me, I was there to support him. But he continually stabbed me in the back. That's the real world!
But Edochie cautioned his adherents against wishing others well since their wishes can come back to haunt them.
"I'll shortly provide all the information so that others can benefit from it. He continued, "People, be careful what you wish for—it could come to you.
Nigerians, however, reacted negatively to his post, with many expressing their displeasure with it.
Others doubted his sanctimoniousness, particularly in light of the fact that he had identified as a pastor before.
One Instagram user going by the handle Atuanya Chigozie responded, writing, "@yuledochie, my brother, you have to let go of all that. Life must go on and the past must be forgotten. We hope for advancement and a long life. So, buddy, forget about everything. You don't need it.
"Hmmmmmm, what's dis man's offence, please," Bee Signature asked. There is too much hate.
"How do you explain that you're not on good terms with him by not attending his burial or posting anything about his passing? How? I'm unfollowing you right away since your heart is too gloomy, asked Official Salma.
"I thought you're a pastor," remarked a another person going by the username Ben Kingsley. What happened to forgiveness?”
"Sir Yul, even in death, you're still holding grudges, yet you want your wife to forgive you," said Urazie Maureen's opinion.
"I wonder how May managed to stay with this guy over the years," Jenidope remarked in the interim.
"Your wife you betrayed nkor..you can't take what you dish," questioned the first Lady Chidi.Proceed to take a seat.
Edochie held his first church service on his YouTube channel, True Salvation Ministry, on January 29, the day he officially started his online ministry.
Yul shared details of his spiritual path, including his divine calling and the moment he sensed God's direct guidance, during the virtual meeting. Looking back on the times when people saw his calling to ministry, he disclosed that a life-threatening vehicle accident on the Ore road served as the catalyst for his decision to embrace his calling fully.
Yul recounted a life-changing event in which he narrowly avoided a fatal consequence and heard a compelling voice urging him to commit his life to serving God and humanity. This realisation signalled the start of his "second life," which was different from his earlier endeavours.
