Real Madrid’s Courtois, Rodrygo set to miss El Clasico injured

Due to injury concerns, Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo are probably going to miss Saturday's Clasico matchup against La Liga leaders Barcelona.

On Tuesday, Los Blancos overcame a deficit to defeat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in the Champions League, albeit at the expense of goalie Courtois.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Real Madrid revealed that Courtois had been diagnosed with an adductor injury in his left leg. His typical replacement is Ukrainian custodian Andriy Lunin.

Earlier in the month, Lunin replaced Courtois due to a slight hip injury sustained by the Belgian.

Madrid coach Ancelotti said that Rodrygo had a "muscular injury" after the winger looked injured during the closing moments of the team's victory over Dortmund.

According to Spanish media, Rodrygo is expected to miss Wednesday's match against the league leaders due to a hamstring injury.

The second-place winners are three points behind Barcelona, led by Hansi Flick.
