6 teams eliminated from AFCON 2025

Six teams have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, taking place in Morocco.

The teams that have been eliminated include Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Comoros.

Botswana was the first team to be eliminated after suffering defeats in their initial two matches. Equatorial Guinea and Gabon also exited the tournament after losing their first two games.

Zambia's journey came to an end on Monday night with a 3-0 loss to the host nation, Morocco.

Comoros made history by being the first third-place team to be eliminated, as they concluded their group stage matches already trailing behind four of the other five third-place teams.

In contrast, six teams have successfully advanced to the Round of 16: Algeria, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt.
