Rano: Ice block seller who became billionaire, owns 120 filling stations, 600 trucks, 60m litre tank farm

Known by most as A.A. Rano, Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano was a poor lad from Kano Village who grew up to become a billionaire and the head of a company that owned 120 filling stations all over Nigeria.

Rano was born into a typical household in Lausu, Kano State, and began his career selling local goods like ice blocks and groundnut oil.

Rano has invested in creating a multibillion-naira business that operates across several Nigerian economic sectors.

Currently, Rano controls the AA Rano Oil & Gas Industry in Nigeria, which includes a 56 ML Tank Farm located in Lagos, 120 retail outlets and filling stations located around the country, over 600 vehicles and LPG terminals, and a vessel that was bought (M.T LAUSAU).

His businesses include AA Rano Terminal, AA Rano Road Haulage, Rano Lubricant, Rano Air, Lausu Marine and Logistics, RanoGaz, a state-of-the-art Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) terminal, and a rice milling company.
